Griffin-1 Lunar Lander Completes Rigorous Environmental Testing for Moon Mission
Standing at the forefront of NASA’s new commercial lunar exploration initiatives, Voyager Technologies’ Griffin-1 lunar lander has successfully completed a series of rigorous environmental tests at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory to simulate the extreme conditions it will encounter from launch to touchdown.
By undergoing intense acoustic evaluations reaching 153 decibels to replicate the deafening roar of liftoff and enduring severe thermal vacuum tests that simulate the freezing vacuum of space and dramatic temperature shifts on the lunar surface, the spacecraft has firmly proven its ability to withstand the harsh realities of its upcoming mission.
Final Preparations Underway for Historic Cape Canaveral Launch
Having demonstrated its outstanding durability within JPL’s historic testing facilities, the Griffin-1 lander has already been returned to Voyager Lunar Systems for final assembly as preparations intensify to fulfill its monumental goal of delivering essential infrastructure to the Moon.
With JPL project managers expressing great pride in supporting this new phase of commercial lunar exploration, the spacecraft will soon transition into its ultimate operational readiness phase as it awaits transport to Cape Canaveral for its scheduled launch later this year.
